In the early 1980’s, the
Landmarked McCormick Mansion’s service wing was
subdivided into townhouses. Lackluster in execution, this
unit was conceived in a forgettable 80’s style with
low ceilings, little detailing and no respect for its exquisite
context.
Directed by the new owner to create “what might have
been built historically”, the space was fully gutted
and a stately “period” home was crafted. Unique
built-ins and finishes inspired by the owner’s whimsical
sense of style, new glass skylights and modern appointments
tastefully integrated with the traditional décor complete
the new home.
