Designed to appear as if it were
built at the turn of the last century, the house is set harmoniously
into its eclectic, hilly neighborhood. Formal spaces at the
front of the house, characterized by a decorative facade,
and a casual area at the rear of the house, rendered in Craftsman
style, provide dual areas suitable for formal entertaining
and everyday family life.
Spaces were developed to highlight the client's
collection of antiques, art, and vintage lighting, and new
components were handcrafted to achieve an integrated whole.
Salvaged architectural artifacts were also selected for inclusion
where appropriate to the style and scale of the spaces.
